Hello! My name is Juan Pablo Guerrero Ríos. I'm a full-stack developer and I've spent the last several months completely immersed in remote development, building everything from landing pages to Rails APIs. During this process, I have developed extensive knowledge in the next stacks:
- Front-end development: JavaScript |React.js | Redux-Redux Toolkit| CSS3 | HTML5.
- Back-end development: Ruby | Rails | Relational databases (PostgreSQL)
- Tools & Methods: Git, GitHub, Render, Mobile/Responsive Development, RSpec, TDD, Chrome Dev Tools.
- Professional: Remote Pair-Programming, Teamwork, Mentoring, Leadership.
As a Petroleum Engineer, I worked in the Colombian oil industry for two years where I learned several of the skills I now use every day as a developer: problem-solving, effective communication, multi-tasking, and more. I regularly won employee awards, and I now bring the same kind of energy to all of my work, including my growth as a software engineer. I also lived in Australia for several months, where I spent many weeks working with a diverse population of people in a stressful, fast-paced environment, becoming a pro at juggling the communication, work ethic and empathy needed to succeed in the Tech industry.
Activities and societies:
- Adept at working in pairs remotely, actively communicating and exchanging knowledge with
other devs.
- Coaching and mentoring abilities to aid in the team members' personal and
professional development.
- Successful delivery and accomplishment of project goals by overseeing
end-to-end software
projects.
- Strong project management skills from planning to execution with appropiate use of resources.
I am now keen to deploy my numerous skills as a remote web developer working with local or international teams to support the emerging goals and objectives facing companies today. I am confident that my experience in project management and software development will be of great value to your organization.

Experience in teamwork and good communication practices between frontend and backend.

I have a sizable portfolio of over 46 projects, all of which were developed using different technology stacks like HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, React/Redux, and Ruby on Rails. The Cozy Homes API, a Ruby-based back-end project with a simple UI and thorough rental history, is one of my most notable projects. The user-friendly React UI of Cozy Homes compliments the API and makes renting a home simple.
Additionally, I created the My-Budget App, a dynamic and user-friendly spending monitoring program. Users may track spending, synchronize data between devices, and create custom categories for tracking that is more relevant to them. Both the front end and the back end of this project used Ruby on Rails, and PostgreSQL was used for best performance.
In addition, I developed the web application Space Travelers for businesses that provide services for both commercial and research space flight. Users can book rockets on this innovative website and take part in thrilling space adventures. It smoothly connects with the api.spacexdata.com API for effective data integration and was built with JavaScript, React, and Redux.
I made quotes for aviation fuel supply projects (hoses, dispensing guns, valves, water detectors, hydro kits, pipes for hydrant networks, and hydrant valves) for clients of the El Dorado Airport in Bogota and fuel plants in different cities of the country belonging to Terpel so that I could quickly satisfy their needs.
I provided customer service, attended to their requirements, and followed up on purchase orders with European and American suppliers.

In this way, times and costs were optimized by 35% in four months, and customers became loyal by working more efficiently and taking into account possible unforeseen events.
Colaborated with the creation of operational programs achieving 15% of time optimization and developed operational reporting as well as time and costs analysis..
